In 2001, I was stunned to learn that my 54-year old sister-in-law, Patt, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a disease that primarily strikes the elderly. At the time, I wondered how could this happen? Patt was a vibrant, funny, youthful woman – only six years older than myself.
